ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The William Jewell men's soccer team got their first shutout of the season on Friday night, defeating Missouri-St. Louis 2-0 to move to 2-1-1 on the year.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• After more than 54 minutes of scoreless soccer, Keaton Wiley found the back of the net on a feed from Ethan Nichols to break the ice and give the Cardinals the lead. 
• Nichols followed with a goal of his own in the 81st minute to provide an insurance score and seal the win. 

KEY STATS

• The Cardinals had 11 shots with four on goal with six corners. 
• Lee finished with three shots while Nichols and Walker Bond had two. 
• Nichols and Henry Staebell each posted an assist. 
• Jose Arellano finished with five saves to get his first shutout.
