SMITHVILLE, Mo. - In their lone home event of the season, the William Jewell women's golf team placed third at the Kansas City Cup at Paradise Pointe. Senior
Frida Hammarlund led the pack, taking home medalist honors while setting a school record for 54-hole round score.
THE LINEUP
- Hammarlund led all players with a 54-hole round score of 219, besting the program's previous record of 225 set by Alex Trask at the 2016 GLVC Championship. The senior put together a second round score of 71, to tie her career low while also leading the tournament with 11 birdies.
- Katye Vausbinder was 12th overall with a score of 248, including a season low 79 in round two and was one of only two players to record an eagle.
- Madelyn Luttjohann followed Vausbinder closely, finishing tied for 13th at 250 while Abby Wolff posted a 265 to tie for 22nd place.
- Charley Strahm rounded out the lineup at 275, good for 27th place, improving by nine strokes in round three.

Jewell is scheduled to be back on the road this weekend at the Golfweek Division II Fall Classic in Destin, Florida.
