ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The William Jewell men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision at Maryville University on Friday to fall to 2-2-2 on the year. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Saints scored in the seventh minute to take an early lead on a goal from Victory DeGiorgio. 
• Jewell got an opportunity to tie in the 17th minute with a foul in the box, leading to a penalty kick but the Maryville keeper blocked the kick and kept the clean sheet. 
• The Cardinals got three more opportunities in the first half but couldn't convert. 

KEY STATS

• Jewell finished with seven shots, led by two each from Ethan Nichols. 
• Jose Arellano picked up four saves.
