SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The William Jewell women's basketball team traveled to Drury University on Thursday night to challenge the No. 3 ranked Lady Panthers. The Cardinals fell 84-54 to drop to 4-16 on the season and 2-8 in the GLVC, but put together one of their better performances in recent seasons against the national power. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Drury jumped out to a big lead quickly, holding a 24-4 advantage after one period. 
• In the second quarter, DU pushed the lead to 31 midway through but the Cardinal offense also got going as Libby Arnold broke away for six points in the frame. 
• Jewell won the third quarter, outscoring the Panthers 22-16, going on a 13-2 run, led by four more points from Arnold, to get back within 24 heading in to the final 10 minutes. 
• Drury stretched their lead to 84-44 late in the game but, the Cardinals scored the final 10 points of the game, led by by two three pointers from Elizabeth Ernsting, to bring the score to the final. 

KEY STATS

• Arnold paced the Cardinals with 10 points while Emree Zars finished with nine. 
• Jewell shot 38% from the floor and pulled down 31 rebounds.
