LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell men's soccer team lost 2-1 against the Drury Panthers after an early goal but were unable to hold on. The loss drops the Cardinals to 0-11-4 on the year and 0-8-4 in the conference. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Jewell quickly captured the lead after a goal by Alexis Ibarra just two minutes into the game, a powerful shot from 18 yards out, assisted by Ethan Nichols. 
• A Drury goal tied it up as the Cardinals had a pair of corner kicks going into halftime.
• Panthers gained the lead in the second half, Jewell put up four shots including a shot on goal by Sam Wambold in the final minute but it was not enough.

KEY STATS

• Nichols' assist was his first of the season.
• Ibarra's goal was his fourth of the year, a team high.
• Jose Arellano had four saves.
