ROLLA, Mo. - The William Jewell volleyball team fell in three sets on Saturday at Missouri S&T to fall to 6-12 on the season and 1-5 in conference play. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Jewell got off to a strong start, leading by two, but the Miners followed with a 13-3 run to go in front 22-14. The Cardinals got three points back after a kill from Anna Godfredsen but a point from the Miners' Jordan Burton ended the set, 25-18. 
• Missouri S&T grabbed an early 17-9 lead in set two before Jewell went on a 7-2 run, capped by back-to-back aces from Samantha Thompson to pull within two, 23-21. Back-to-back Missouri S&T kills gave them a 2-0 set lead. 
• Trailing by seven late in set three, the Cardinals made a run, pulling with two after three kills from Bella LaPorta. The Miners finished off the set, 25-21. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• LaPorta led the Cardinals with nine kills and seven digs. 
• Jesa Wallace posted 14 assists while Thompson had eight.
