LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell men's basketball team continued to roll on Saturday, winning 90-77 over Newman University to move to 4-0 on the season. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Newman took an early five point lead six minutes into play but a steal from Grant Stubbs ended in a Kobe McKinley layup to jump start a 24-10 Cardinal run and open up a 35-21 lead. 
• The Jets got back within eight as Jordan Jermain hit back-to-back three pointers to push the advantage back to double digits. Trey Shannon hit a triple at the buzzer to send Jewell to the locker room up 46-30. 
• The Cardinals maintained their lead for much of the early minutes of the second half. On top 58-47, Jewell used another 16-3 run capped but a layup from Isaac Patterson gave the Cards their biggest lead of the day, 74-50. 
• Newman hit four threes down the stretch but Jewell kept the Jets at arms distance to win, 90-77. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Jermain led three players in double figures with 24 points, including 18 in the first half. 
• Kobe McKinley added 22 on 11-of-14 from the floor while Patters had 10. 
• Stubbs picked up a team high 11 rebounds and was just shy of a double-double with nine points. 
• Jewell shot a blistering 59% from the field and score 48 points in the paint.
