TOPEKA, Kan. - The William Jewell women's basketball team dropped a non-conference match up at Washburn University on Tuesday night, 86-66. The Cardinals move to 1-4 on the season with the loss. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Jewell got off to a slow start offensively, falling into a 12-5 hole before threes from Ayden Shannon and Chloe Frank got the Cardinals back within four, 15-11. 
• The Ichabods went on a 28-14 run during the second quarter to break open a 47-27 lead at the break. 
• Both offenses were hot in the third period, led by six points from Shannon as the Cardinals trailed 69-48 after three. 
• Jewell out scored Washburn 18-17 in the fourth quarter but could not overcome the early deficit. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Emree Zars led three Cardinals in double figures with 15 while Frank added 14 and Shannon 13. 
• Jewell shot 32.8% from the floor on the night.
