SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The William Jewell women's basketball team dropped a 72-55 decision on the road at No. 12 ranked Drury University on Thursday night. The Cardinals fell to 2-7 on the season and 1-3 in conference play. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Cardinals got off to a strong start, taking a 9-7 lead after a traditional three point play from Katie Knock in the early minutes. A layup by Kate Hillyer made it 13-11 at the end of the first period. 
• Drury caught fire in the second quarter, outscoring the Cards 25-4 while hitting five threes to take a 38-15 lead into the break. 
• After the Panthers expanded their lead to 26 in the third period, Jewell began to find an offensive rhythm, getting triples from Libby Arnold, Caitlin Behling, Chloe Frank, and three from Abigail Jones to get back within 17 by game's end. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Jones and Ayden Shannon led the Cardinals with nine points each while Emree Zars added eight points and five rebounds. 
• Jewell won the second half, outscoring the Panthers 40-34. 
• The Cardinals shot 34% from the floor and turned the ball over just 11 times.
