WARRENSBURG, Mo. - The William Jewell softball team dropped both ends of a midweek doubleheader on Tuesday at Central Missouri. The Cardinals fall to 1-6 on the season. 

GAME ONE: Jewell 2, Central Missouri 6
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Central Missouri took an early lead scored two runs in the second inning before adding another in the fifth to lead 3-0. 
• The defense faltered in the sixth frame as the Jennies scored three runs on two hits and three errors to expand their lead to six. 
• Down to their final at bat, the Cardinals got on the board with two solo home runs from Sophia Lopez and Amanda Chung. 

KEY STATS

• Jewell was held to three hits, including the two home runs. Payton Totzke grabbed the other base knock. 
• Sydney Parra (0-3) took the loss, allowing two earned runs on seventh hits while striking out two. 

GAME TWO: Jewell 0, Central Missouri 8
HOW IT HAPPENED

• UCM did all their damage in the opening inning, scoring eight runs on seven hit and a Jewell error. 
• The Cardinals put two on in the fourth and fifth innings but could not score.

KEY STATS

• Totzke picked up two more hits to lead the offense, while Addie Bell had a double.
• Olivia Wood (1-2) was tagged with the loss in the circle, allowing six earned on five hits.
