LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell women's tennis team opened the spring season with a 7-0 win over Baker University on Friday morning to move to 5-3 on the year.
Gwyn Gifford and
Maisie Markowitz shutout the Wildcats team at No. 2 while Maggie Shockle and
Julia Santos won 6-3 at No. 1 doubles to secure the doubles point for Jewell.
The Cardinals won at the top five positions, including shutouts by
Katie Shipley and
Elsie Crawford to get the sweep.
