SMITHVILLE, Mo. - The William Jewell women's golf team wrapped up the 2022-2023 season on Saturday at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship where they placed seventh overall, their highest finish since 2019. Battling high winds and chilly temperatures for late April, the Cardinals held off Rockhurst by three strokes to earn the Kansas City Crown point for women's golf. 

THE LINEUP 

• In her final career tournament, senior Katye Vausbinder posted a top-15 finish, tying her career high place at 14th. She shot a team best 75 in the opening round to keep the Cardinals close and finished with a 236 overall. 
• After a bit of a slow start, Madelyn Luttjohann posted an improvement of six strokes in round two and shot a 247 overall to jump up to a tie for 28th. 
• Jaci Webb shot a season best 83 in round two to finish at 257 and 44th overall while Abby Wolff followed closely at 260 in a tie for 45th after picking up a five stroke improvement in the finale. 
• Finally, Ali Boswell, playing in her first Division II postseason, was tied for 47th at 261 to give the Cardinals all five players in the top-50.
