ROLLA, Mo. - The William Jewell men's track and field team concluded the 2023 Great Lakes Valley Conference Outdoor Championships with a bang on Saturday, winning one individual title, and four podium finishes. As a team, the Cardinals finished eighth overall.
Justen O'Brien led the charge, winning the 400 meter dash with a career best time of 48.71, to become the first Jewell man to win an individual outdoor championship since 2019 and the first sprinter since 2017.
Devonte Hubbard also picked up All-GLVC Second Team honors in the triple jump, placing second at 14.80 meters. Freshman
Mason Sullivan was third in the 110 meter hurdles while the 4x100 team also placed third to give Jewell four total podium finishes.

Devonte Hubbard is currently ranked 13th nationally in the triple jump and will await the NCAA Division II selections which will be announced in mid-May.
