BOLIVAR, Mo. - The William Jewell men's and women's cross country teams opened the 2023 season on Friday evening at the Bearcat Invitational, hosted by Southwest Baptist. The women's team finished ninth overall while the men were 12th. 

WOMEN (5K)

• Lottie Vickers paced the Cardinal women, placing 53rd with a time of 21:48.96. 
• Freshman Landen Wilson followed close behind at 22:10.99 to finish 57th. 
• Audriana Rodriguez posted a time of 22:36.35 in her debut while another rookie, Sadie Camp came in at 22:57.93. 
• Aubrey Harris posted a time of 35:57.52 to complete the team score. 

MEN (8K)

• Samson Selleck led the men's side with a mark of 21.48.37 to place 70th. 
• Kavan Phillips and Justin Edwards followed at 24:29.08 and 26:38.53, respectively in their collegiate debuts. 
• Landis Johnson finished with a time of 33:42.02 while Matthew Ingle rounded out the team at 40:00.01.
