Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Missouri-St. Louis Tops Cardinals in GLVC Opener

LIBERTY, Mo – The William Jewell men's soccer team fell to Missouir-St. Louis on Friday night, 2-0. With the loss, the Cardinals move to 0-4 on the season and 0-1 in conference play.
 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Cardinals were quick to shoot accumulating five shots in the first 15 minutes of play, including two by Walker Bond.
  • Jewell nearly got on the board in the 57th minute with a free kick by Keketso Lipholo but it was deflected in the upper corner of the goal.
  • Jewell was forced to play a man down for the final 33 minutes of the game as UMSL added an insurance goal in the 79th minute. 
 
KEY STATS
  • Bond lead the charge with four shots including three on goal.
  • Junior  Brian Vidal had 66 minutes and one shot on goal, both career highs.
  • Jose Arellano finished with six saves.

William Jewell will be home to take on McKendree on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
