WAYNE, Neb. - The William Jewell women's soccer team dropped their season opener on Friday afternoon at Wayne State by a final of 4-0. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Both teams were held quiet until late in the first half as Skylar Stueckrather got Wayne State on the board in the 39th minute. The Wildcats scored another in the 43rd minute to take a two goal lead into the break. 
• Jewell got a shot off quickly in in the second half as Lux Sands' attempt was saved by the WSC keeper. 
• The Wildcats scored a third goal in the 67th minute before adding a final tally in the 84th.  

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• The Cardinals finished with two shots, both on goal and both from Sands. 
• Jenna Skeeters made five saves.

Jewell opens the home portion of the season on September 8 as they host Oklahoma Christian at the new Soccer/Lacrosse Field on the Jewell campus.
