KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The William Jewell men's soccer team dropped their Kansas City Crown matchup Sunday afternoon to Rockhurst 2-1. The loss to their crosstown rival gives the Cardinals a 4-6-3 record and a 2-6-2 GLVC mark.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Rockhurst struck first with a goal in the 23' to capture the early lead.
• 11 minutes later a shot from Brian Vidal was blocked, while a shot on goal from Dillon Byrkit tested the Hawks but would not find the net. Jewell went into halftime down 1-0.
• After a strike from the Hawks to go up by two, Zach Nichols sent a shot past the goalie from 18 yards out to cut the Rockhurst lead to one, however it would not be enough as the Hawks would get the 2-1 win.

KEY STATS

• Umberto DiCarlo had two saves.
• Keketso Lipholo registered three shots, tying a career single game high.
• Both squads had three shots on goal, while the Hawks out shot Jewell in total 11-10.
