LIBERTY, Mo. – The William Jewell men's soccer team lost 1-0 Sunday against Drury University. The Senior Day loss drops the Cardinals to 5-7-3 in the regular season and gives Jewell a 3-7-2 GLVC record.
Before the game the Cardinals recognized their 11 seniors, Sage Smotherman, Keketso Lipholo, Fernando Perez, Cole Hoppe, Walker Bond, Brian Vidal, Garrett Ramirez, Kanwar Warya, Max Cooley, Dylan Hernandez, and Dillon Byrkit.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• A goal in the 22' from Drury gave the Panthers an early lead. Later in the half Elliot Labeth sent a shot wide right, while later Nolan Piedimonte tried finding the net but would be stopped as the first half came to a close.
• Nichols in the second half hit back-to-back shots but both would be stopped by the Panthers goalie, Jewell would not be able to get any more shots on goal and would lose 1-0.

 
KEY STATS

• Senior Max Cooley got the start, logging 21 minutes with one save. Umberto DiCarlo had three saves.
• Both teams had three shots in the first half and seven in the second half, while Drury had five shots on goal compared to the Cardinal's three.
• Kaleb Fannin and Nichols led the team with two shots each.
