LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell softball team fell twice on Thursday afternoon to Missouri S&T, 1-0 in both games. The Cardinals move to 18-18 overall and 1-9 in league action. 

GAME ONE: Missouri S&T 1, Jewell 0
HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Cardinals put runners on in four of the first five innings but headed into the top of the sixth scoreless. An error, wild pitch, and infield single put a Missouri S&T runner on third for Sydney Anderson who put a sac fly to left to score the games lone run. 
• Jewell put the tying run in scoring position in the bottom half of the sixth but two ground outs ended the rally. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Both teams were limited to four hits as Abby Vandiver and Alexa Alemjo each had a double.
• Avrey Reynolds (9-8) took the loss despite not allowing an earned run over seven innings.   

GAME TWO: Missouri S&T 1, Jewell 0
HOW IT HAPPENED

• In game two, the Miners got two early hits to score in the opening inning and take the 1-0 lead. 
• Jewell put a runner on base in all seven innings and advanced them into scoring position five times but could not muster a run. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Olivia Wood (6-5) was saddled with the hard luck loss, allowing just a single earned run with five strikeouts.
