LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell women's lacrosse team dropped an 18-6 decision to Dominican University of California to fall to 1-7 on the season. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The first period featured lots of offense as the Penguins took an early 2-1 lead before Jacey Wynn tied things up with under five to go. Kaylee Gross added a goal late but DUC scored in the final 50 seconds to hold a 4-3 lead. 
• The Penguins pushed their lead to four midway through the second quarter but Wynn and Addison Devers each scored to make it a 7-5 score at the intermission. 
• Jewell was out scored 11-1 in the second half as the Penguins crusied to an 18-6 win. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Gross and Wynn each scored twice while Olivia Fornelli had a team high two assists and eight shots. 
• Haydin Gibson posted eight saves.
