LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell men's soccer team lost 1-0 to Maryville University Sunday afternoon. The setback sends Jewell to 2-2-2 on the year and 0-2-1 in GLVC action.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Similarly to Friday, a quick goal two minutes into the game put Jewell to an early 1-0 deficit.
• Keketso Lipholo got a shot on the upper half of the goal in 29', followed shortly behind with shots on goal by Brian Vidal and Caua Nascimento but none would find the back of the net.
• Coming out of halftime Jewell would take a corner kick between a pair of shots by Walker Bond and Alex Tomasella but Jewell would be unable to tie the game at one apiece and end the game with the 1-0 loss. 

 
KEY STATS

• Umberto DiCarlo would tally six saves on the day with 16 total shots from the Saints.
• Jewell would have seven total shots with four on goal. Nascimento and Lipholo would each lead the pack with two shots each.
