ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The William Jewell volleyball team fell in straight sets on Friday evening on the road at Maryville University to drop to 4-18 overall and 0-8 in conference play. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Maryville opened up a commanding 14-point advantage early in the first set before Jewell was able to put together 6-3 run but the Saints took the set. 
• The home team grabbed a 7-0 lead in set two and never looked back, cruising to the 25-9 win. 
• Things were back-and-forth in the third set until a 7-0 run put the Saints in front as they took the finale 25-13. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Maryville hit a blistering .461 while holding the Cardinals to just .031. Emma Lea Benney finished with eight kills while Caroline Beckmann had six to go with a team high seven digs. 
• Emily Brannan had three blocks as the Cardinals out blocked Maryville 4-0.
