Cardinals Close Indoor Regular Season at Ichabod Invite

TOPEKA, Kan. - The William Jewell track and field teams wrapped up the indoor regular season this weekend at the Ichabod Invitational at Washburn University. The Cardinals set one school record while hitting four NCAA provisional marks. 

WOMEN

  • 60 Meters: Kennedy Vernon posted a mark of 8.51 to lead the Cardinals.
  • 60 Meter Hurdles: Caroline Mayes placed sixth with an NCAA provisional mark of 8.70 in the finals, fourth best all-time.
  • 400 Meters: Caprice Robinson was 28th at 1:01.87 while Leila Moore was just behind at 1:01.92, moving into eight on the all-time performers list.
  • High Jump: Lillian Bogard was fourth in the field with a leap of 1.50 meters.
  • Pole Vault: Sophia McCune put up a career best vault of 3.04 meters to place 14th.
  • Shot Put: Cydney Banks hit another NCAA provisional mark, placing second at 14.47 meters.
  • Weight Throw: Banks also hit a provo in the weight throw at 18.17 meters, fourth best all-time, and third in the field. Bobbie Pollard was also in the top-10 overall at 15.25 meters while Jada Alfaro had a career best throw of 14.44 meters.
  • 4x400 Relay: The team of Moore, Robertson, Morgan Mayo, and Camryn Thomas finished at 4:17.42, 10th best in the GLVC this season.
     

MEN

  • 60 Meters: Daniel Williams led five Cardinals in the field with a time of 7.01 which ranks fourth all-time.
  • 60 Meter Hurdles: Adam Hoffman posted a time of 9.44 to finish 38th overall.
  • 400 Meters: Connor Hull crossed in a swift 48.71 second all-time to only his school record mark and is also eight in the GLVC this season. Konner Poynter followed close behind at 49.67, making him the fifth all-time performer.
  • 800 Meters: Sincere Davis moved into 10th all-time with a time of 1:59.31.
  • 3000 Meters: Samson Selleck was 45th in the field at 9:22.41.
  • Pole Vault: Lukas LePage was seventh overall with a vault of 4.58 meters.
  • Shot Put: Bradan Dickinson was 14th in the event at 14.69 meters while Keonne Gladden has a career best mark of 12.74 meters.
  • Weight Throw: Dickinson broke his own school record at 18.77 meters to place eighth and hit an NCAA provisional mark. Gladden had a collegiate best throw of 13.91 meters. 
  • 4x400 Relay: The team of Poynter, Hull, Davis, and Kain Sourbeer ran a time of 3:22.56, sixth best all-time and fifth in the GLVC this season.

UP NEXT

The Cardinals head to the Great Lakes Valley Conference Indoor Championships on March 1-2 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
