SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The William Jewell women's basketball team fell 85-56 on Saturday at Drury University to move to 5-17 overall and 3-13 in conference action. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Jewell struggled offensively in the opening quarter, shooting just 21% from the floor as the Panthers raced out to a 25-9 lead. 
• Drury expanded their lead to as many as 27 in the second quarter before Ayden Shannon scored four points while Kirsten Hauck added a bucket just before the half to send the teams to the break with Jewell trailing 47-24. 
• The Cardinals played nearly even with the host Panthers in the third period, outscored by just two, 20-18. Three straight triples from Hauck and Caitlin Behling cut the deficit to 23, 65-42. 
• After Drury grew their lead to a game high 34 late in the game, Jewell finished on a 7-2 run, capped by a offensive rebound put back by Rylee Thompson. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Hauck, Kate Hillyer, and Ella Bockenstedt finished with 11 points each while Behling added 10 off the bench. 
• Paris Opelt pulled down a team high five rebounds while Hauck and Bree Shannon had three assists a piece. 
• Jewell shot 37% from the floor but were just 7-of-30 (23%) from three point land, meanwhile the Panthers were 52% for the game and 55% from long range.
