DENTON, Texas – The William Jewell women's wrestling team competed at the National Collegiate Women's Wrestling Region 8 Championship on Saturday, leaving with five athletes that qualified for Nationals; Alex Waitsman, Emarie Bolosan, Shelby Kemp, Athena Willden, and Nylease Yzagere. 
 
For Willden it is her third time qualifying for Nationals and her second consecutive year with Jewell. In addition to qualifying for Nationals for the second time, sophomore Waitsman is the Region 8 Champion in the 117 pound class.
The five national qualifiers this year tie the same number of qualifiers that the program sent to Nationals in the Cardinal Wrestling program's inaugural season of 2021-22.
