MANHEIM, Pa. - The William Jewell women's wrestling team moved up one spot in the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) national poll released Friday, now sitting at No. 22 across all of NCAA women's wrestling. The Cardinals continue to have an individual ranked in the top-10 as
Alex Waitsman moved up two spots to No. 7 in the 117lb weight division.
Jewell sits at 5-7 on the season after splitting a four-dual performance at the McKendree Duals last month, including a win over now No. 7 Lindenwood University.
Waitsman earns her third consecutive top-10 ranking with a 17-6 season record that includes being 9-2 in duals and a perfect 11-0 clip in pinning opponents. Her fastest pin this season came at the Jewell Duals against current No. 7 Lindenwood University's Lindsey Lopez in just 31 seconds.
After having to cancel their dual versus Avila University this week due to an ice storm in the Kansas City area, the Cardinals will prepare for a trip to Denton, Texas to compete in the NCWWC Regional beginning on Saturday February 22.
