LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell men's lacrosse team dropped an 11-5 non-conference contest on Tuesday afternoon to Northwood University (Mich.) as the Cardinals fall to 2-3 on the season. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• After the Timberwolves took an early lead just over a minute into action but Jaxson Lenz knotted things up with his second score of the season after which Kade Barvitz gave Jewell their first lead, 2-1.
• Northwood scored three straight to retake the lead but Brenner Mitts and Barvitz knotted things back up late in the second period. 
• The Timberwolves scored six unanswered goals before Nathaniel Leroux bot a feed from Carson Wright to stop the run and pull Jewell within five. Northwood added a final score on a man-up opportunity to bring things to a final of 11-5. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Jewell was out shot 40-23 and forced 25 turnovers.
• Barvitz led the offense with two goals while Leroux had five total shots and three ground balls. 
• Fynn Ziebarth finished with 15 saves in cage.

Jewell is off until March 8 when they will host Quincy University for a non-conference contest.
