INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The William Jewell women's wrestling program was picked to finish in fourth place in the preseason coaches poll released Thursday as announced by the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC). McKendree University was picked to win the Conference, in the first year that women's wrestling is a GLVC sponsored sport, followed by associate member Grand Valley State and Quincy. The preseason poll is determined by the league's head coaches, who, per GLVC bylaws, are not permitted to vote for their own team.
The Cardinals received 20 total points following their 17th place finish at the NCWWC Championships in 2025. Highlighting the returners for Jewell is junior
Alex Waitsman who is coming off of a season which she earned All-America honors in the 117 lb. weight class. Head coach
Desiree Ramos returns for her fourth season at the helm of the program with an overall record of 14-16.
Jewell opens the season on November 1 at the Simpson Open in Indianola, Iowa.
