Cardinals Break Three School Records at Bearcat Invite

MARYVILLE, Mo. - The William Jewell track and field teams traveled north this weekend for the Bearcat Invite and came home with three school records and five NCAA provisional marks.
 

WOMEN

  • 60 Meters: Kennedy Vernon posted a mark of 8.53 as the only Cardinal in the event.
  • 60 Meter Hurdles: Caroline Mayes hit an NCAA provo in both the prelims and finals to win the event with a time of 8.65, second best all-time.
  • 200 Meters: Mayes placed 17th to lead five Cardinals in the 200 with a time of 26.37. Caprice Robertson moved into seventh among the all-time performers with a mark of 26.81.
  • 400 Meters: Robertson also shined in the 400 at 1:00.97, to enter her name on the all-time performers list at No. 6 while Leila Moore followed close behind at 1:02.33 to put herself in 10th.
  • High Jump: Lillian Bogard posted a 1.48 meter jump to place 20th.
  • Pole Vault: Sophia McCune placed in the top-20 with a vault of 2.76 meters.
  • Shot Put: Cydney Banks picked up a provo mark and moved into fifth in Division II, breaking her own school record with a throw of 15.21 meters.
  • Weight Throw: Banks also broke the record in the weight throw at 18.68 meters, 12th best in Division II this season while Bobbie Pollard was 12 in the field at 15.69 meters.
     

MEN

  • 60 Meters: Daniel Williams picked up a time of 7.02 to tie for fourth all-time while Korbin Pugh posted a time of 7.16.
  • 60 Meter Hurdles: Adam Hoffman finished 27th at 9.38.
  • 200 Meters: Williams and Connor Hull moved into a tie for 10th all-time with a mark of 22.57. Konner Poynter was just behind with a time of 22.62.
  • 400 Meters: Hull placed 15th at 49.36 with Poynter finishing at 49.96, moving up to seventh on the all-time performers list.
  • 600 Yards: Justin Edwards finished 25th at 1:23.12.
  • 800 Meters: Sincere Davis crossed the line at 1:58.76, the seventh best time in program history.
  • Mile: Samson Selleck posted a time of 4:35.49 to place 39th.
  • Pole Vault: Lukas LePage picked up a mark of 4.21 meters to finish 10th in the field.
  • Shot Put: Bradan Dickinson posted a throw of 13.61 meters.
  • Weight Throw: Dickinson won the event with a Division II provo and broke his own school record with at 18.39 meters.

The Cardinals wrap up the indoor regular season next weekend at the Ichabod Invitational.
