ST. LOUIS - The William Jewell women's lacrosse team ran into a buzz saw on Sunday in the 2025 season finale, taking on No. 5 ranked Maryville, falling 22-6. The Cardinals finish the season 7-10 and 2-5 in conference play, a six-win improvement from a year ago. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Maryville scored the first seven goals of the game before Elle Eastwood and Ella Childress got Jewell on the board late in the first quarter. 
• Eastwood added another woman-up goal to open the second frame, following quickly by Fia Lamanno's 18th score of the year, to pull within six. 
• In the third period, Eastwood added two more goals for the Cardinals but Maryville out scored Jewell 6-0 in the finale period to win 22-6. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Eastwood led the Cardinals with four goals on five shots with three draw controls. 
• Olivia Fornelli picked up three assists and four draw controls. 
• Claire Eastwood finished with six saves and a team-high five ground balls while Brynn Devers also had one save.
