LIBERTY, Mo. – The William Jewell men's soccer team notched their first win of the 2025 campaign, a 2-0 victory over the Harding University Bison on Friday afternoon. The win puts Jewell at 1-2-0 on the season with GLVC play beginning on Sunday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Twelve minutes into the game Alexis Ibarra crossed a pass directly into the foot of Eliott Labeth who rocketed it into the top left corner to take a 1-0 lead.
• Coming out of halftime up by a goal, Kaleb Fannin wasted no time as he struck his first goal of the year assisted by Zach Nichols in the 47'.
• Jewell's defense kept the Bison from finding the back of the net as the Cardinals held on for the 2-0 win.

 
KEY STATS

• Keeper Umberto DiCarlo had three saves in the afternoon matchup.
•  While Jewell got the win, the Cardinals were outshot by the Bison 11 to four.
• First year members of the program Miles Heckadon, Ocean Comfort, and Zach Lattimer were all spent minutes on the pitch.

 

Jewell hits the road on Sunday for a road contest to open up Conference play against the University of Illinois-Springfield.
