LIBERTY, Mo – The William Jewell men's soccer team collected their first tie of the year in 0-0 fashion against the Lewis University Flyers. The Cardinals are 2-5-1 after the tie, with a 1-3-1 GLVC record.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Caua Nascimento took a shot in the 17' to start the Cardinals shooting affair, but the Flyers' keeper was able to stop it from crossing the line. Jewell had two late corner kicks, but the defense for Lewis prevailed.
• Teams combined for only four shots in the second half, with defenses being strong for any attack that was made by the opponent.
• A late shot from Kaleb Fannin swerved left outside the frame that kept both teams scoreless for the 0-0 finish.

• Umberto DiCarlo posted the shutout, the second of the season for the keeper, while having three saves.
• Owen Pereia played 57 minutes off the bench, tallying one shot.
