Justice Sutton has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference men's basketball Player of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday.
Sutton led the Cardinals to two more wins over the weekend running their streak to seven in a row, with an 83-74 win over Upper Iowa, who was receiving votes in the national polls, followed by a 63-51 victory over Quincy. The guard averaged 25.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals while shooting 61% (19-of-31) from the field, 80% (4-of-5) from three, and 90% (9-of-10) from the free throw line. He picked up his second career double-double against Upper Iowa, with a career high 13 rebounds and matched his career high of 30 points for the second time in seven days. He scored 17 of the team's final 31 points against the Peacocks to up the win streak to their longest since 2017.
This is the first Player of the Week honor for Sutton and the first for the Cardinals since
Jordan Jermain in February 2025.
