LIBERTY, Mo. - In the largest margin of victory in the NCAA era, the William Jewell men's basketball team posted a dominant 121-59 rout of Maryville University on Thursday evening in their first home game of 2026. In the win, the Cardinals hit 23 three point field goals to tie the Great Lakes Valley Conference single game record set by Southern Indiana nearly 16 years ago to the day (Jan. 9, 2010). - After a free throw by Saints, Jewell locked down defensively and exploded on the other end, going on a 33-0 run over the next nine minutes to open a 42 point lead. Patterson and Ashton Jermain combined for three more triples to close the half with Jewell on top 65-16.
- The Cardinals continued to pour it on in the second half, getting threes from Will Beck, Kyle Scharbrough, Romero, Jermain, Patterson, and Fuller to expand the lead to 73 with more than six minutes remaining. The Jewell bench got in on the action as Jaden Peterson and Christian Rebec also hit triples down the stretch as the Cardinals cruised to the 62-point win.
