JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The William Jewell women's soccer team's defense held Lincoln scoreless Wednesday evening, as the Cardinals earned a 0-0 draw at Capital City High School. Jewell is now 0-8-2 overall and 0-5-2 in GLVC play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lincoln pressed early, putting four shots on goal in the first half, but keeper Jenna Skeeters turned away every one to keep the match level at the break.
- The Cardinals took control of the attack after halftime, out-shooting the Blue Tigers 7-4 in the second half. Olivia Allen forced a save in the 48', and Maddy Follmer followed with one of her own in the 52'.
- Dilyn Davies tested the Lincoln keeper again in the 68', and Follmer had two more looks late, but neither side could find a winner as the match ended 0-0.
KEY STATS
- Skeeters played all 90 minutes in goal and made five saves to earn the clean sheet, giving her 26 saves over Jewell's last three games.
- Follmer led the Cardinals with three shots.
- Jewell kept the match close on the stat sheet, with Lincoln holding narrow edges of 11-8 in shots and 6-4 in corners.
