INDIANAPOLIS - William Jewell junior defensive back Ben Murawski has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday. He joins Southwest Baptist's Cooper Owens (offensive) and UIndy's Anthony Crowell (special teams) as the weekly honorees.

Murawski posted a season high 11 tackles, including nine solos and two for loss, and an interception in the Cardinals 20-17 win over Quincy on Saturday, their first victory over the Hawks since 2022. This is the first honor of Murawski's career and the second defensive nod this season for the Cardinals, and fourth overall.
