LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell men's basketball team has now won 12 of their last 14 contests and wrapped up a season sweep of Drury on Thursday night with an 80-69 win over the Panthers. The Cardinals improve to 15-8 on the year and 11-4 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The opening half went back-and-forth as neither team could gain more than a three point lead until Isaac Patterson's three pointer with six minutes to go put Jewell on top by four. Justice Sutton scored 11 straight points for the Cardinals who then got a bucket from Will Beck at the buzzer to take a 41-34 lead into the half. 
• Drury came out of the locker room and quickly cut the deficit to three but the Cardinals followed with a 25-10 run to open up an 18-point advantage. The Panthers did not go down quietly, chipping away over the next six-plus minutes, eventually getting back within four, 70-66. Jewell outscored the visitors 10-3, going 8-for-8 from the free throw line over the final three minutes to put the game on ice. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Sutton poured in a career high 33 points, on 11-for-18 from the floor and 10-of-12 from the free throw line, for his third 30-plus point performance this season. 
• Bradley Lightbourne added 13 points while Patterson and Ashton Jermain each finished with 11. 
• The Cardinals shot 53% overall and scored 19 points off turnovers.
