KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The William Jewell men's lacrosse team made a late push on Monday night but fell 14-8 to Rockhurst University in a non-conference match up. The Cardinals fall to 6-2 on the season while the Hawks improve to 4-2. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Rockhurst started strong, holding an 8-0 lead at the half, allowing just six Cardinal shots in the first two periods. 
• Jewell got on the board early in the third quarter as Aaron Maline scored his fifth goal of the season while Nathaniel Leroux added a score to make it 13-2, Rockhurst, heading into the final frame. 
• The Cardinals outscored the Hawks 6-1 in the fourth period, led by two from Wyatt Novak, to pull with six but could get no closer. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• The Cardinals were led offensively by Leroux's two points on one goal and one assist. 
• Cody Kaiser was 7-of-18 on face offs while grabbing a team high four ground balls, alongside Josh Hart. 
• The Hawks out shot Jewell 48-21 with 33 on goal.
