QUINCY, Ill – Beginning the first of four road games in a row, William Jewell women's lacrosse fell to Missouri Western on Friday, 22-11. The loss places Jewell at 1-9 and with a 0-3 GLVC record.
 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Jewell kept it close in the first quarter, notching goals from Miranda Menousek and Ella Childress to close the frame down 3-2.
• After Kuepper Trinkel scored to begin the second quarter Quincy ripped off three goals for a 6-3 lead before Toryn Podschwit assisted on Rosie Grebe's fourth goal of the year to cut the deficit to two goals headed into half.
• Teams traded goals in the first three minutes with the Cardinals getting as close to being down 7-6 after Trinkel scored again, but Quincy scored seven unanswered goals over the next 15 game minutes for a 14-6 score.
• Elysa Atkinson found the back of the net late in the fourth but was not enough as Jewell lost 14-7.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Claire Eastwood got the start in goal for Jewell, playing the full 60 minutes tallying 13 saves.
• The Cardinals collected four more draw controls than Quincy, 13-to-nine, to mark the first time this season Jewell has out-drawn an opponent.
