Rockhurst Comeback Finishes Off Jewell's 2026 Season

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – William Jewell baseball closed out the 2026 season with a 12-6 loss on Saturday afternoon. The Cardinal's record will finish at 15-35, and 9-23 in the GLVC.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Down by one entering the second inning Luke Burns doubled to score Luke Bies and tie the game.
  • Two innings later Jewell piled on five runs to pull away. Blake Tigges scored on a throwing error to break the tie before an RBI single from Hayden Post scored Santiago Jimenez. Another error plated Matt Goldasich before Post came around to score to end the five-run rally.
  • Rockhurst chipped away at the deficit, tying the game in the fifth, taking the lead in the sixth, and tacking on insurance runs in the seventh for the 12-6 win.

KEY STATS
  • Ethan Veach got the start, going 3.2 innings with three punches. Mike Wonderlich received the loss (0-1) in his one inning of work.
  • Burns and Maddox Meier each notched a double while every Cardinal in the starting order collected at least one hit.
