INDIANAPOLIS - William Jewell Senior Associate Athletics Director and Senior Woman Administrator
JaeLynn Ellison has been appointed to the NCAA Division II Softball National Sport Committee as one of eight governing members from across the country. Her term will be served from June 23, 2026 through August 31, 2030.
Division II sport committees conduct their respective Division II championship and develop policies and procedures to administer the championship in an efficient and orderly manner. Sport committees report directly to the Championships Committee, which helps direct and approve recommendations or policies and procedures from the sport committees. Sport committee members also assist in oversight of selections to national championships and serve as the NCAA representative during preliminary-round competition and championship finals.
Ellison brings experience to the committee as a Division II administrator and a former softball student-athlete having spent two years at fellow Great Lakes Valley Conference member Drury University following two seasons at the junior college level. At Labette Community College she was an All-Conference performer, graduating as the program's career leader in earned run average. During her career, she helped lead the Cardinals to a conference and regional championship and national ranking as high as No. 5 in the NJCAA and was an Academic All-Conference honoree.
"Softball has provided me some of my best friends and some of the best years of my life and I am excited to serve a sport I love in a meaningful way," said Ellison. "I am honored to represent Jewell and the GLVC at the national level and look forward to working alongside the rest of the committee to advance the sport."
The 2026-27 academic year will mark Ellison's 12th at Jewell, having started as an intern in the Athletics Communication office in July 2015. Today, in addition to her duties on The Hill, she also serves on the College Sports Communicators Division II National Cabinet and the CSC Academic All-America Core Committee, among numerous other past services across the GLVC and professional organizations. She has completed professional fellowships such as the CSC Diversity & Inclusion Fellowship, Doniphan Leadership Program, NCAA Effective Facilitators Workshop, and NCAA Impact Forum. She holds undergraduate degrees from Labette Community College and Drury University along with a master's degree in athletics administration and a graduate certificate in NCAA compliance from Western Kentucky.
