William Jewell College Athletics

LIBERTY, Mo. – An early goal by Truman State held up as the difference Wednesday evening, as the William Jewell women's soccer team fell 1-0 to the Bulldogs. Jewell is 0-7-1 on the season and 0-4-1 in GLVC play.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Truman State struck early, when the Bulldogs found the back of the net off a corner kick in the 3' to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead.
• The Cardinals settled in from there, with Kennedy Holloway, Jessica Baker and Hannah Winkler each putting shots on frame in the first half, but Jewell trailed 1-0 at the break.
• The Bulldogs came out firing in the second half with 15 shots, but the Jewell defense kept Truman off the board the rest of the way. Shots on goal from Allison Schwarz and Dilyn Davies weren't enough to find the equalizer as the Bulldogs took the win.

KEY STATS

• Jenna Skeeters played all 90 minutes in goal and made 12 saves, including eight in the second half.
• Five different Cardinals recorded a shot on goal.
• Jewell was out-shot 26-to-7, with Truman holding a 13-5 edge in shots on goal and a 9-2 advantage in corners.
