Mike Stockton

Mike Stockton is entering his 24th season as the head baseball coach at William Jewell College in 2025 and is the second winningest coach in program history having amassed more than 700 career wins.

• May 1, 2010 - Upset No. 2 South Carolina Beaufort to advance to the final of the NAIA Kingsport Regional

• May 7, 2015 - First GLVC Tournament win vs. Bellarmine (15-1)
• May 15, 2015 - First NCAA-II postseason win vs. Quincy (5-3)
• April 30, 2016 - 500th career win with a vs. Truman State (4-1)
• May 6, 2016 - Swept No. 10 Quincy 
• May 12, 2016 - Defeated No. 20 Southern Indiana (12-4) in the GLVC Tournament
• October 20, 2017 - Inducted into the Ottawa University Athletic Hall of Fame
• October 6, 2018 - Inducted into the William Jewell Athletic Hall of Fame
• March 14, 2022 - 600th career win vs. UW-Parkside (11-10)
• April 13, 2025 - 700th career win vs. Lincoln (Mo.) 4-1


Jewell Highlights
• Made first NCAA appearance by any Jewell men's sport in 2015
• Has coached players to 90 All-Conference honors and 12 postseason appearances
• Four time Conference Coach of the Year in 2002, 2004, 2007 and 2009
• Midwest Region Coach of the Year in 2015
• Has mentored 12 All-Americans, including first teamers Mark Brackman and Ben Blanton, and the first NCAA All-Americans in Anthony Hansen in 2022 and Alex Epp in 2023
• Won five conference championships
• Three former players and one team (2004) has been inducted into the William Jewell Hall of Fame
• Coached the first two Academic All-America First Team performers in Jewell history in Anthony Hansen and Alex Epp (2022 & 2023) with Epp earning Academic All-American of the Year honors in 2023
• Had 14 players sign professional contracts

• Won a school record 45 games in 2005 and advanced to the semifinals of the NAIA Lawrence Regional 
• Won more than 40 games for the second straight season in 2010 and finished in the final of the NAIA Kingsport Regional after defeating the No. 2 ranked team in the nation

• Was inducted into the William Jewell Athletic Hall of Fame in 2018 


Prior to Jewell
• Spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Dallas Baptist University where he coached hitters and infielders
• DBU infielders set a school record with 82 doubles plays
• Helped lead DBU to back-to-back appearances at the NAIA World Series, including a runner-up finish in 2001
• Served as an assistant coach for the University of Kansas from 1998-99, coaching the Jayhawk infielders and assisting with hitting


Playing Career2
• Played collegiately at Ottawa University (Kan.) where he led the Braves to two conference championships 
• Was the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year and earned All-America honors as a senior 
• Spent two years competing professionally with the Royal Antwerp Eagles of Belguim where he was named the league's Most Valuable Player in 1998
• Inducted into the Ottawa Athletic Hall of Fame in 2017  


Personal
• Married to wife Cindy and is the father of son Synjin and daughter Sadie
• Earned his bachelor's degree in English at Ottawa followed by a master's in sports psychology from Kansas
