Volleyball Loses Four-Game Match at Wisconsin-Parkside

Cardinal volleyball started a two-match journey over the weekend with a four-game loss to the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in Kenosha, Wisconsin on Saturday night.  The 18-25, 25-20, 25-21, 25-20 match loss drops the Cardinals to 4-22 on the year, 2-10 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, while the Rangers move to 16-9 and 6-6.

Jewell started the match with a game one win, hitting .250 in the game to UWP's .113 and committing only three hitting errors. The Cardinals had a 15-2 run in game one which contributed to the win.

The match continued to be tightly contested throughout the match, with the Rangers hitting .170 and Jewell .169 through four games; the teams were nearly even, in fact, in most statistical categories with the Rangers having just slight edges in total kills (+5), total attacks (+4), serve receive errors (-2), serviced errors (-5), and blocks (+4)

Individually, Christina Pratt had 15 kills while hitting .364 with a service ace and four blocks.  Kelsey Wagner had 11 kills and 21 digs, Kaylee Marquardt had nine kills and 10 digs, and Cailynn Hayter had 20 set assists as Kelsey Moffitt added another 15 assists.

Jewell will face Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois on Sunday.
