The William Jewell College volleyball team opened play at the seventh annual Mizuno GLVC/GLIAC Crossover with a 3-0 sweep over Lake Superior State University at the Great Lakes Center on Friday.

Jewell goes to 3-15 on the year and Lake Superior falls to 2-15.  The win snapped the Cardinals' seven game losing skid.  Jewell won the match by scores of 25-21, 25-18 and 25-12.

Christina Pratt and Libbey McMurray led the Cardinals with 7 kills each.   

Kaylee Marquardt and Lesley Iron posted a team high 7 digs and Amy Lindhorst had 13 assists for Jewell. 

Jewell will face Wayne State University this evening at 5:30 p.m. and then take on Tiffin University tomorrow with match time set for 1 p.m.
