The William Jewell College men's basketball team faced non-conference opponent Central Christian College of The Bible on Monday night and came away with a convincing 81-41 win. The Cards have now won three straight and currently stand at 3-3 overall on the season.
Jewell started the game on an 11-2 run, and never looked back. The Cards shot 50 percent from the field in the first half including 5-12 from three-point land and led 40-19 at halftime.
In the second half, the Cards put up 41 points, while holding the Saints to just 22. Jewell went 31-67 (46.3%) from the field, with 8 three-pointers.
Payton Meek led all scorers with 14 points, going 6-8 from the field.
Christian Hildebrandt and
Patrick Whelan each had 11 points, tied for second most on the night.
Emil Ostafiiciuc, Hildebrandt, and Meek all pulled down six rebounds.
The Cardinals continue non-conference play at Newman University on Saturday December 13 in Wichita, Kan.
