The William Jewell College softball team lost a pair of games on Saturday afternoon to Great Lakes Valley Conference opponent Bellarmine University. Playing on the Jewell campus in Liberty, Mo., the Cardinals (5-9, 1-3 GLVC) were swept in doubleheader action, losing by a scores of 4-1 and 2-0 to the visiting Knights.

Kelsey Morgan. The Knights exploded for three runs in the top of the seventh and thanks to a strong pitching performance from Alicia Miller were able to hold on for the 4-1 win.
Miller, 6-2, tossed a complete game three hitter allowing one run while striking out seven.
Faith Song 3-5 took the loss going 6.1 innings giving up five hits, four runs and four walks. Song struck out two on the day.
Game two became a pitching duel for the first four innings between Cardinal hurler
Rachel Hayden and Bellarmine's Ally Foster.
The Knights were able to score single runs in the fifth and sixth which turned out to be all they would need.
Foster, 3-2, tossed a complete game one hitter while striking out 12 Cardinal batters.
Hayden, 1-3, was the tough luck loser allowing five hits, and two runs while striking out three.
The Cardinals will host University of Southern Indiana for a doubleheader on Sunday, March 16 with first pitch set for 12:00 p.m.
