Chairez Earns Spot on NFCA All-Midwest Region First Team

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association has revealed the 2026 NFCA Division II All-Region teams. The 2026 squads are comprised of 205 student-athletes from 108 programs. In the Midwest Region, Jewell center fielder Mikayla Chairez was selected to the First Team, and is one of eight Great Lakes Valley Conference players to do so, with another five honorees on the Second Team.

The awards honor softball student-athletes from the Association's eight regions with first and second-team selections. NFCA member head coaches from each respective region nominated their student-athletes and voted for the teams. All the honorees are now eligible for selection to the 2026 NFCA Division II All-America squads.
Cal State San Marcos, the West Region's top seed, led all programs with six All-Region selections, four on the first team. Regional top seeds, No. 1 Saint Leo University (South) and No. 21 Shippensburg University (Atlantic), were each awarded five all-region honors with the Lions having three first teamers and the Raiders with one.

The 2026 NFCA Division II All-America teams will be announced on Wednesday, May 27.
