Jewell softball entertains cross-town rival Rockhurst University in a key Great Lakes Valley Conference Western Division doubleheader starting at 2:00 Wednesday afternoon in Liberty, Missouri.

Kansas City Royal Hall of Fame Second baseman Frank White will throw out the first pitch at approximately 1:45. 
 
Two new charcoal grills have been installed in the student section beyond the right field fence.  Tomorrow 100 hotdogs will be provided by the softball team for the Jewell fans in attendance.  Charcoal and grilling tools will also be provided. 

Both ends of the doubleheader will be televised online by the William Jewell College Sports Network; the pay-per-view production costs $7.95 and covers both games of the doubleheader. Rick Cole will have the pregame starting at 1:40 p.m.

The Cardinals are 10-12 overall, 5-5 in the conference.  Rockhurst is 9-15 for the season, and 4-6 in the GLVC, trailing Jewell by a game for fourth place in the West.
