The William Jewell College men's basketball team faced off against the Drury University Panthers on Saturday in Great Lakes Valley Conference action, losing by a score of 74 to 57. This loss puts the Cards at 7-8 on the year, and 3-4 in GLVC play.
The Panthers dominated the first half with excellent shooting from the field, going 15-32 (48%), while the Cardinals shot a lackluster 4-16 (25%) from the field. The score at the break was 39-19.
In the second half, the Cardinals were able to put some nice offensive possessions together, and shot 14-25 from the field (56%) while going 8-12 from three-point land (66.7%). Five of these three's came from the hands of senior
Jordan Lewis, who continues his hot streak, with his third straight game with 20 or more points scored. He finished the game with 22 points, 18 of which game from beyond the arch.
Austin Regier lead the Cardinals with 5 rebounds.
The Panthers' Cameron Adams put up 31 points and 8 rebounds, both of which led the team.
Jewell return to action on Thursday, when they travel to Kirksville, Mo., to play Truman State University. Tip off is slated for 7:00 p.m.
